Day of the Nottingham Masters Day two of the Nottingham Masters saw another brilliant day of tennis. After several rain interruptions on Thursday, sunshine was all around the Nottingham Tennis Centre and five matches were held on Centre Court.
In the first match Mikael Pernfors secured his second singles win over Barry Cowan, who will play for the second spot in the final in the last match of the group stage against Richard Krajicek. The defending champion from the Netherlands won against Jeremy Bates in a very impressive manner 6:2 6:3.
After another very enjoyable and entertaining performance in the legends doubles with Mansour Bahrami and Paul McNamee, former World No. 1 Martina Hingis was lined up against Michaella Krajicek. Hingis had won her first match but the Dutch World No. 141 showed why she once belonged to the Top30 women in the world and although Hingis once again demonstrated her skills, she lost in two sets. In the last match of the day, Olga Savchuk beat 18-year old Mon ica Wejnert in two sets.
Tickets for the Saturday and Sunday of the tournament are still available and can be purchased at the box office on the day.
