The Marie Curie Hospice in Liverpool is delighted to be the beneficiary of this year's Tradition - ICAP Liverpool International Tennis Tournament, held at Calderstones park June 17th - June 21st, particularly as we are celebrating 50 years of caring for patients in Liverpool in 2009
Funds raised during the tournament will be used to support the Marie Curie Hospice Liverpool which provides specialist medical and nursing care, with the expert help of multi-disciplined healthcare professionals, to over 3,500 local cancer patients each year. This care is provided through our in-patient, Out-patient and Day Care services. It costs more than £4.7 million a year to run the Hospice with 50% coming from the NHS, the remainder being dependent on fundraising.
Marie Curie Cancer Care also provides practical nursing care and support to people seriously ill with cancer in the comfort of their own homes. We focus on providing the best possible quality of life for people with cancer and our services are provided free of charge to patients and their families.
