Martina Hingis triumphs at The Nottingham Masters

Martina Hingis played a stunning match against Monika Wejnert at the Nottingham Tennis Masters currently taking place at the Nottingham Tennis Centre (10 – 13 June). She achieved a comfortable victory over her opponent winning 6 – 2 6 – 1, showing all the precision and finesse for which she is remembered.

Tomorrow (Friday 11 June) she will be playing against Michaella Krajicek. Martina will be reunited with her former doubles-partner, Anna Kournikova in the senior doubles at Wimbledon this Summer.

Also on day 1 the Swede Mikael Pernfors surprisingly beat former Wimbledon Champion Richard Krajicek in a thrilling three-set match 7:6 5:7 10:5 whilst Barry Cowan won the "Battle of Britain" against Jeremy Bates 7:6 4:6 10:4.
