The former Wimbledon champion from Switzerland will play at the Nottingham Masters from June, 10th to June, 13th. In 1997, Hingis most famously won the Australian Open, Wimbledon and the US Open to become the youngest female World no. 1 of all time. Hingis is very excited to appear in Nottingham, saying that she is really looking forward to play at the Nottingham Tennis Centre.
But there will also be another former Wimbledon champion coming to the City of Legends. Dutchman Richard Kraijcek is looking to defend his title which he has won last year in an exciting final against Greg Rusedski. Having retired from professional tennis in 2003, Kraijcek is sure to impress again after he has shown an excellent form in 2009.
Also arriving into the Nottingham Tennis Centre will be Mansour Bahrami. The man behind the moustache will come and entertain the crowd with his skills and talent, just like he did in 2009.
Amongst other players to appear in Nottingham are also Paul McNamee, who won the doubles title at the All-England Lawn Championships in Wimbledon twice, and Jeremy Bates, former British Davis Cup captain and former British No. 1. However there will be even more players coming to Nottingham, so watch out: the legends are returning to Nottingham again!
Full schedule of play will be announced a week before the event. The tournament will be a round robin format with each day play beginning at midday with singles and doubles legends matches continuing all afternoon.
Tickets are now on sale and are available from Ticketmaster and the Nottingham Tourist Information Centre. For further information please visit the Ticket Information Website.
