Tiger Tim has arrived in Nottingham

Getting ready for work!

Northern Vision is proud to announce that Tiger Tim will join the Nottingham Masters this year as the official mascot. Tiger Tim will be in Nottingham for the lead-up into the event and of course throughout the tournament itself. Tim is originally from Liverpool where he also supports the Tradition-ICAP Liverpool International Tennis Tournament. We are very grateful that Tim has had a couple of minutes to give an interview to www.nottinghammasters.co.uk.

You can also check out Tiger Tim’s Facebook site and become a friend to see how he spends his time in Nottingham.

Nottinghammasters.co.uk: Hello Tiger Tim, how are you? Thank you for joining the elite line-up of the Nottingham Masters 2010.

Tiger Tim: I’m very well, thank you. I’m getting so excited about playing tennis all summer and I am especially excited about the Nottingham Masters as it will be the first tennis tournament of my life.

Nottinghammasters.co.uk: What brings such a rare breed to the City of Legends?

Tiger Tim: Well, you have already given the answer there. I love legends and I hope to become a tiger legend one day too. When I was working at the tournament in Liverpool, people told me that there is a great event in Nottingham so I came down to the East Midlands to have a look and show Nottingham my tennis talent.

Nottinghammasters.co.uk: So when did you start playing tennis?

Tiger Tim: Well, I used to be more interested in winter sports but because tennis is such an exciting sport I decided to start playing it this year. I’m still a beginner but I am learning pretty quickly, I think.

Nottinghammasters.co.uk: Where do you come from?

Tiger Tim: I was born in Africa but I came over to England a long time ago. Even in Africa we have heard of Nottingham because of Robin Hood and I am so happy to be here now.

Nottinghammasters.co.uk: Which player are you looking forward to the most?

Tiger Tim: Well, I once saw Mansour Bahrami on BBC 1 (Big Big Cats 1) and he is such a funny and entertaining tennis player. I can’t wait to see him in action again. Maybe I can convince him to play with me for a bit, that would be absolutely brilliant. But I am also excited to see Martina Hingis. A Milka cow mate told me at my time at the University of Wild Animals, where I studied Mascot Studies, that she was a former World No. 1 and I think it is great that such a good player is coming to show her talent in Nottingham.

Nottinghammasters.co.uk: Where will you spend the weeks running into the event?

Tiger Tim: I’m really looking forward to walking around Nottingham City Centre. I especially like Market Square. Its a beautiful city and I want to get to know as many people as possible. I want to speak to the kids in particular and I’ll try to convince them to play tennis Tiger style like I do.

Nottinghammasters.co.uk: How can people get in touch with you?

Tiger Tim: I will be around until the end of the tournament but I also have a Facebook account on which you can become my friend.

Nottinghammasters.co.uk: Thank you very much for the interview Tiger, it’s a pleasure to have you in Nottingham.

Tiger Tim: Thank you so much for giving me the opportunity to talk to you. I will see you at the Nottingham Tennis Centre from Thursday, 10th June.
